On June 14, 1777, Congress settled on a design for the flag, which is why today is considered #FlagDay. Today we celebrate, “the flag of the United States of America, and …the republic for which it stands.” Yeah, we’ve been through a lot in the last 241 years, and sometimes it seems like it’s just getting worse, that we’ve lost sight of what the Great American Experiment is all about. So let’s take today and find some common ground with other Americans. Forget for today whether or not someone else’s #politics agree with yours, and recognize that, to quote that famous philosopher, “we’re not Spartans, we’re not Watusi.
