2008

July: Signed with Atlas Talent in NYC! A great way to kick off the second half of the year!

May: KSKR--The Score! ESPN radio in Oregon selected me as their new imaging voice! They relaunched and are on the air as of June 11.  Also refreshed the WKHJ morning show liners (Hey Terry), as well as some character voices for a series of commercials for WGMD. Been hip-deep in industrials for companies like SRI, vCampus, LTD, Inc., and Pacific Institute on a variety of topics (broadband video to poison control)!

March: I have been selected as the announcer for the 2008 Horatio Alger Awards!

February: DC United, Benjamin Moore Paints, announcer for the Discovery Channel Post-Production Awards, as well as Discovery's Upfront Tour. A minor part in a video game! Also got Source-Connect up and running, so I'm available everywhere!

January: Right out of the gates! A new logo, commercials for the Puppy Bowl DVD, renewed Discovery Channel contract, and imaging 98 Rock's new HD-2 channel, Classic 98 Rock! Late last year, I also read 850+ lines for an online simulation. I'm not sure I say that much during a normal day!

2007

November: Look! Me as a Simpson! No, I wasn't in the movie or show.

October: Landed the voice of Max on the new Baltimore County Community College series of radio spots.  Also did my first political spot for a candidate up in New York state, and I voiced a trailer for a longer piece narrated by the great Tom Brokaw about restoring the Great Plains.

September: Currently working with McGraw-Hill on a CD for their new Harrison's internal medicine DVD and reference book. Ah, I love medical terminology!

Summer: Busy--and not just sunning myself. Did some work for the Save Ellis Island Foundation. I voiced their web intro piece, as well as tags for all their vignettes starring folks such as Elliot Gould, Joe Montana, and Christian Slater, mixed in with regular people telling their stories. Go to www.weareellisisland.org and listen in and then make a donation and tell your family's story.

I also voiced some in-store commercials for DeWalt and their new line of power tools with Nano Technology!

Thought I'd have a little fun for my wife's big girls weekend. I normally produce a CD of songs and bits for them, and this time I added a trailer. The XL in the title means 40 not extra large because a couple of them have hit that magic number (but they will deny it when asked). And now, the trailer.

April: Yee-Haw! Finally got my country imaging demo done! Click on the link to left, pardner!

March: I recorded this parody of the famed "Bud Light--Real Men of Genius" commercials for a friend of mine whose friend was having his 50th birthday (he was also dying of cancer). Anyway, she wrote the script and brought over a singer and we recorded it in my studio. I mixed it and sent it to her. She sent it to her friend's brother, who put it to video and posted it on Youtube. Then it showed up on Bruce Springsteen's official fan website. Here's the link. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cU1-6dtrbuI

So far it's gotten over 12,000 views! Enjoy (and with all due respect to Pete Stacker, who voices the real commercials).

PS--I forgot to mention: the guy this was done in honor of seems to be in complete remission!

Happy New Year! Hard to believe! Well, Discovery Channel renewed me as their billboards promo voice for the year! My son Logan is doing a little imaging for 98 Rock in Baltimore, and I did an infomercial! That was awesome. Just letting go and going completely nuts was perhaps the most fun I've ever had doing VO!

2006

October: An early blizzard . . . of new clients, that is! Simmersion, for an online Q&A; Travel Channel, for Joan Cusack's Local Flavor (Thursdays at 9PM EST), a new radio station (Internet only), and vCampus (an online education company). Also, finally got the new phone patch and it works perfectly. So call in, clients, I'm ready!

July: Just finished recording a demo for son, Logan (age 10). Click on his icon below to hear! The apple falls not far . . .

June: Man, that went by fast! Got a new Studio Cat (well, kitten), name of Flip! She has made herself comfortable in Elvis's old corner.

Meanwhile, you can drop by the Discovery Channel Store and purchase a copy of yours truly narrating the Top 10! Bombers and Fighter Planes!

March: Did the intro for the International 48 Hour Film Festival! Also, recorded three more Top Tens! for the Military Channel.

February: The great Dr. John McLaughlin of the political talkshow The McLaughlin Group caught laryngitis and so they called in yours truly to do the intros to the segments while he rested his voice! Also, worked on the Spring book for WKHJ.

January: Happy New Year! Finished up '05 with some promos for TLC and their new show, Tuckerville (with Tanya Tucker). I was the voice of a bull and a director.

Also, got signed again by Discovery to do their billboards for '06!

On a personal note, my cat, Elvis, moved on to his reward. I'll miss him napping behind me in my studio and occasionally interrupting me with his meowing. I suppose he was just critiquing me or telling me to keep it down. Rest in peace, my little furry buddy.

2005

October: On a related note, my daughter now has her own theme songs! Click here and here! The "Maeve the Brave" theme songs were brought to you by Tone Meister and Composer Extraordinaire Mark Edmondson!

October: Those "Top 10!" shows I recorded for the Military Channel will be airing this month and into November. The premieres are as follows:

  • 14 October, 8PM EST--Top 10 Bombers
  • 4 November, 8PM EST--Top 10 Fighting Ships
  • 18 November, 8PM EST--Top 10 Infantry Fighting Vehicles

Be there!

Also, I did my first official On-Hold Messaging for ASET, an international translations and voiceover production company. Their Website is http://www.asetquality.com/ or you can call them and hear my voice while you are on hold at 1-800-787-8726. And last, I performed an industrial for the outgoing president of Lockheed Martin.

Summer: Been busy, folks! Started my own fan club and nominated myself as president for life (there was an attempted coup, but I put it down); Recorded three more "Top 10!" shows for the Military Channel; Did some commercial work for a department store in Kenya called Nakumatt Lifestyle; Auditioned for some animation work; and Pumped out a bunch more promos for Discovery and some radio stations! Fall shows no sign of slowing down! Stay cool!

May: Recorded about seven different voices in translation for "Osama bin Laden: Prophet of Terror" for the Discovery Times Channel. Also, just got word that I've been signed to do three more "Top 10!" shows for The Military Channel. My goal, of course, is to do 10 of them and then do my Top 10 "Top 10!" shows.

April: More promos! Over 2500 this year for Discovery Channel network alone, not to mention radio and other broadcast venues! Also doing concert promoting work for a group in Ireland (first up: Meat Loaf!).

March: Doing some promos for Discovery Video on Demand (VOD), as well as in-store radio for an international chain called Nandos. And then there's imaging for JAMZ 96.7.

January: This Friday, the 28th of January, at 8PM watch Top 10 Fighter Aircraft on the Military Channel (formerly Discovery Wings). Narrated by yours truly! Channel 287 on DirecTV or check local listings.

2004

Great News! I just renewed my contract with the Discovery Channel to be the voice of the billboards for Discovery, TLC, Animal Planet, Travel, Science, the all-new Military Channel, HD Theatre, Health, Fit TV, and all the rest for 2005! Happy New Year!

December is starting out well. Just signed with the good folks at WKHJ (104.5 in Western Maryland) to do imaging and started out with some holiday liners (Ho, ho, ho!). Also doing liners for Health Media Radio up in NY! Want to send a special shout out to Todd Schick (www.toddschick.com), a fellow VO up in the Great White North, for all his assistance in getting my studio up to par.

November has been a busy month! Voiced two shows for Discovery Wings (Top Ten Tanks and Top Ten Fighter Aircraft); recorded about 500 promos for the Discovery Channel, TLC, Animal Planet, BBC America, etc., and recorded my first commercial from the new studio! (Link coming soon). I also narrated a looped presentation for vCampus that will play at upcoming tradeshows.
